More pics from the past couple months

No people here, just some random things from the past couple months.

In January I organized a trip to the velodrome up in Falun with my cyling club.  I borrowed some wheels and built up this bike for the occassion.  Probably the biggest ex Keirin bike in the world, but the short top tube and deep drops still made it pretty tight.

I built this lamp from a big whisk I found at a flea market in Berkeley last year.

A friend had a big school map of America, dating from the fifties I guess.  An interesting focus on ore deposits and rail lines, but look what cities they label in S.E. Washington.

Projects

A lot of indoor projects duing the last couple of months:

Bea and Madeleine working on an "invention" at the art museum.

Bea inherited a bed from her aunt Elizabeth, so we took the opportunity to freshen up her room a bit.  New bedding, a new rug.  I painted her desk with some National Geographic paint we had, and got her a little IKEA office chair.

Once Bea's room was in order, we started on fixing up the tool and network closet into a project area.  Bea wanted to use the space to make a birdhouse, so she and her mom designed one and then we made it together.

I brought my bandsaw up from Falkenberg to do a little work on it.  There are some bearings that need replacing, and it could stand new guides and blades.

But it's not all work and no play.  Bea likes her games, including Candyland.

A new year, a new blog.  It's been awhile, but here's a selection of photos taken off my phone today from the past couple of months.

Winter finally made an appearance, and we had some snow...
