Bea on Bolibompa!

Bea's picture was shown on the children's morning show Bolibompa today.  She'd asked me to send in a picture of her two lost teeth to be shown on the "Congratulations!" segment, but they showed it on the tooth-brushing segment instead.  "En stor glugga" I think they called it. Sorry, can't find a clip.

With Erik at Universeum

A rainy Sunday drew us to Universeum, and we took the neighbor boy, Erik with us to give his folks some time alone with the new baby.

Swedish Thanksgiving

...And the holidays can now start in Sweden.  We hosted Thanksgiving this year, the 10th annual with at least some of these participants, apparently, for those who keep track of such things.  Everyone brought their own side dishes, and we provided the turkey, stuffing, a pumpkin pasta dish, and a pumpkin dessert.  This year we filled puff pastries with the pumpkin custard...

...and assembled a croquembouche of the thing.  Of course everyone brought massive quantities of food to share.  This was almost certainly the biggest spread we've ever had.

Here's the crowd.Maria, Kurt, Matt, Emilie, kids, Madeleine, Brendhain.  Brian and Jonathan's hands also appear, holding wine glasses.  We gathered around our kitchen table, reassembled in the living room.  Happy Holidays!

NK Christmas

Bea and I went into town to see the Christmas display at the NK department store.  They had a Pippi-themed window among others.  Inside, Santa wasn't taking visitors yet, but kids could write wish-lists and leave them in his post box.

Firestation visit

Happy near-Thanksgiving!  I accompanied Bea's class to the firestation at GĂ„rda today, the largest in Europe apparently.  We took the tram across town and then were given a tour by a fireman.  He didn't even try to speak English to the kids, but we all translated for them.

Lots of vehicles.  The trucks have nice versatile organizing cabinets for all their tools along the sides and back.

After eating lunch in the cafeteria, preparing to go home.

Two teeth down

...And just like that the second tooth falls, leaving a big gaping hole in the mouth!

Halloween party and Playground

Madeleine and Bea carved this scary pumpkin in preparation for our Halloween-ish party on Friday.  We invited families with kids and had pumpkin soup.

It soon devolved into a mess of all-ages Lego-building in the living room.

Today Bea's class had an outing planned for our neighborhood, so I came over while they were at the local playground.
