Puppies galore!

The fantastic weather we've been having made for a perfect outing to Essunga to see some puppies. We packed a lunch and brought along Hubert (who's visiting this week) and went to see Stefan and his whippet wonderland.

There are five puppies from two litters two weeks apart. One seems to be missing here...

A class outing to Amundön

 Bea's class had planned an outing to Amundön, a nature preserve on an island south of town for earlier in May, but it unfortunately got rained out. It was rescheduled for last week, when we had some incredible weather! An older fellow who goes by the moniker "Nature Stig" acted as a guide.

The class travelled by two buses and a tram...

Bea's group first looked for sea life.

While Erik's group looked for bugs.

Then they switched places.

After lunch Bea and her friends Klara and Siri lounged in the sun a bit.

Bea's school was closed on Monday, and the weather was abysmal, so she helped her dad with his box project by helping to install the hardware with her new drill.

Monday afternoon had maybe the nicest weather we can expect for a while, so Bea and Hans walked down into town after school to run some errands.

One thing we had to do was to pick up a replacement guitar for Bea, as the container just came in.

It is a beautiful season, best to enjoy it before the rains come!

Göteborgs Cykelfestival 2014

Bea's birthday weekend was also the weekend of the annual Göteborg Bicycle Festival. This year's event had a full program on both Saturday and Sunday with lectures, an exhibition, and activities for all ages. We were so busy taking care of our guests that we didn't really have time to take any pictures, but we have a few:

The after party was held at the same smithy's forge as last year, and of course featured a roller race!

Happy Birthday Bea

Bea celebrated her seventh birthday this weekend with presents in the morning and then a day of helping out at the bike festival.

A new scooter to replace the one her parents managed to forget in France last year...

...some nature books...

...and a drill!

She requested a German pancake for breakfast.

And a chocolate cake for dinner.

Her friend Saskia joined us for a dinner of raclette and opening of the presents from the States. Thanks everybody!
