Math time

Bea wanted to do some math exercises, so I found a website with some, printed them up, and bound a thick book full of them for her to work on, and she's been diligently plugging along at them all day. This on her week off from school. Wow.

Week at home

Bea's school is closed this week, so we've been hosting friends, first Maya and then Klara. Halloween preparations are in full swing, with decorations and peanut butter chip cookie baking.

We were hit by a "hurricane" yesterday, and have had to deal with lots of rain, wind and even hail. Indoor activities indeed.

Ethiopian Circus

We visited an Ethiopian Circus visiting Göteborg with our friends Karolina and Sebastian and family. A fun time! (no, the central fellow is not Ethiopian, but rather West African via Paris, we have been led to understand) There was a lot of tumbling and juggling and climbing... And animals!

Rain and Whippets

It was bound to happen sooner or later.  The amazing late summer and early fall we've been treated with came to an abrupt end this weekend, and we were engulfed in the more typical Gothenburg fall's wind, rain, chill and dark.

We made the most of it, though, and recreated a drive Madeleine and I last did 12 (!) years ago, almost to the weekend, to experience the fall colors. Gräfsnäs Castle was too spooky for Bea, but we had a lunch of tomato soup and cured salmon, and played a bit on a playground there in the park.

After lunch we visited "our" kennel to see a bunch of whippets. Sadly never got one in their full-on harem mode sprawled out over sofas, but here are a couple of poorly-lit indoor action shots.
