It's been a full week of planning and preparing for the Ronde van Retaard 100km single speed gravel road race Komet Club Rouleur organizes every other year.
I kept buying carload after carload of food to sustain our 65 participants and 25 or so volunteers. Lunch, dinner, breakfast, and snacks were all included in the price of admission. I helped screen print our leader's jersey, mountain points jersey, and the musettes we handed out along the route. We even had our own specially made nano-brew: Blonde van Retaard, a Belgian-style ale.
A big pot of soup, several kilos of cheeses and meats, pickles, tomatoes, fruit and 75 baguettes for lunch.
Patch coming in to the finish.
