A few activity-packed weekends await us before our trip to Belgium for Christmas this year. This was the first weekend of Advent, and after last weekend's Thanksgiving it was time to kick the holiday season off for real.
Bea has a Lego advent calendar to count down the days to Christmas this year. Already three doors have been opened: a fireman, a chainsaw (?) and a Christmas tree. Ah, so the fireman can cut down the tree, I get it.
But not only is it Advent, there are even birthdays to celebrate. Neighbor Harry has the same birthday as morfar Anders, November 30, and came over to show off his electric guitar. Meanwhile Helen and Anders flew to Belgium to celebrate, and we have Hubert again.
The end of the year also means it's time for the Komet Club Rouleur annual meeting and party. We had a "brasserie" theme this year, with porcelain and linen tablecloths.
This was just one table. We served food to about 30 people, including some vegetarians. Poulet bonne femme or stuffed portobellos, a green pea mousse, bread, cheese, and a croquembouche.
But partying had to be kept to a respectable level for we had to head to Falkenberg on Sunday to help Bengt with some tasks. We had American-based-in-Lund Patch with us, who enjoyed looking at vintage stereo photos. Patch had come up on Friday for an event at HDK and spent the weekend with us. Oh, yeah, and we had three more visitors over for pizza on Friday. This really was a full weekend.
Clear skies have kept the temperatures firmly below freezing the past few days and will continue for the foreseeable future. Finally this morning we were treated to snow...
